Feeling down that the summer is coming to a close? The leaves will begin to change and the days will become shorter.

A Stanford-led study finds quantifiable evidence that walking in nature could lead to improved moods.  If you live in an urban area find a park or recreational area if possible.  Try to have some sort of engagement with the natural world. Try to take one day at a time and better yet take a walk or a hike. Your peace of mind and furthermore your creativity may benefit.

Visualization can help you envision the future you want.  Think ahead 2, 5 or 10 years and visualize your life as it has already happened.

  • Can you see yourself?
  • Are you working in your ideal job?
  • What are you doing?
  • How do you feel?
  • Where are you living and with whom?
  • What do your physical surroundings look like?
  • Are you busy or relaxed, alone or with other people.
  • If there are other people around, what are they doing?
  • What are your hobbies?
  • What types of activities are you doing in your personal life?

Visualization can be a highly effective technique for gaining clarity and focus towards your goals. Once you have begun to see your future it is easier to work towards reaching it.

With your increased clarity and spending time pondering your priorities you may realize you are craving a career change or personal change.
